SS Nomadic

The SS Nomadic sits low in the water at Hamilton Dry Dock, a compact steamship identifiable by its single black-topped funnel and the cream-and-black livery that mirrors the grander vessels it once served. Built in nineteen eleven by Harland and Wolff, this tender was designed by Thomas Andrews to ferry passengers from the shallow harbor of Cherbourg out to ocean liners like the Titanic, which were too massive to dock directly at the quay.
