The Hollywood Roosevelt stands twelve stories tall on Hollywood Boulevard, a Spanish Colonial Revival hotel recognizable by its tower and the storied history etched into its foundation. Opened in nineteen twenty-seven, it was financed by film industry figures including Douglas Fairbanks, Mary Pickford, Louis B. Mayer, and Sid Grauman. The hotel became a social headquarters for the burgeoning movie business almost immediately.
