Filippi's Pizza Grotto Little Italy

Filippi's Pizza Grotto on India Street began as a small grocery store called Filippi's Cash and Carry, opened in nineteen forty-seven by Vincent DePhilippis and Madeleine Stefani. Three years later, the couple added a few tables to the back of the shop and began serving home-style meals to their neighbors. This unintended transition created a layout where you enter through a narrow grocery aisle filled with imported goods, canned tomatoes, and hanging sausages before reaching the dining area.
