Herbst Theatre

The Herbst Theatre is a nine hundred twenty-eight-seat auditorium housed within the Veterans Building at four hundred one Van Ness Avenue. You can identify the space by the eight large murals by Frank Brangwyn that wrap around the auditorium walls, depicting the four elements of air, earth, fire, and water. These paintings were originally created for the nineteen fifteen Panama-Pacific International Exposition before being installed here in nineteen thirty-four.
