Maritime Plaza Park is an elevated, two-acre public garden that wraps around the base of the One Maritime Plaza office tower. Built in nineteen sixty-seven as part of the Golden Gateway development, this space was envisioned as an outdoor sculpture museum, elevated on concrete pillars above city streets to physically separate pedestrians from automobile traffic.
