The Alioto Lazio Fish Company at four-forty Jefferson Street is marked by bright LED overhead lights that shine over a collection of live Dungeness crab tanks. Operating since the nineteen forties, this is the last of five fishing businesses started by Tom Lazio, and it remains a family-run operation. While many businesses on Fisherman’s Wharf shifted toward tourism, this company kept its focus on wholesale seafood, processing and selling fish and crab directly from the wharf.
