Aquatic Park

Aquatic Park is defined by the ship-like concrete building at the edge of the cove, a stark example of Streamline Moderne architecture that mimics a vessel docked on the shore. Built between nineteen thirty-six and nineteen thirty-nine by the Works Progress Administration, this structure was intended as a grand bathhouse for the public, featuring rounded corners, porthole windows, and sweeping horizontal lines. It stands as the centerpiece of a district that once served as a gritty industrial site known as Black Point Cove, where factories and debris formerly dominated the shoreline.
