Moon Viewing Garden

The Moon Viewing Garden is a secluded, tranquil space within the fifty-five acres of the San Francisco Botanical Garden. You can identify it by the wooden deck that extends over a calm, central pond, designed to evoke the traditional Japanese practice of tsukimi, or moon viewing. It is surrounded by lush Japanese plants and stone pagodas, creating an atmosphere that remains quiet and shaded for most of the year.
