The statue of William D. McKinnon stands on a hill on the south side of John F. Kennedy Drive, positioned between trees and just west of the John McLaren Rhododendron Dell. This fourteen-foot-tall bronze figure honors the man who served as chaplain to the First California Volunteer Infantry during the Spanish-American War.
