Jackson Playground Park

Jackson Playground occupies a four-acre site in the Potrero Hill district, bounded by Carolina, seventeenth, Arkansas, and Mariposa streets. First opened in nineteen twelve, the grounds were originally designated as Jackson Square under the eighteen fifty-five Van Ness Ordinances. While the site remained largely undeveloped for decades, it eventually became a central hub for city athletics and neighborhood recreation.
