The Alhambra Theatre on Polk Street is distinguished by its Moorish Revival architecture, featuring two twin turrets designed to resemble a Moorish castle. Opened on November fifth, nineteen twenty-six, the building was created by architects Miller and Pflueger to serve as an elaborate movie palace. Its design drew inspiration from Spanish and Mexican sources, intended to transport patrons into a fantasy environment.
