Gallery Sixteen occupies the ground floor of a historic building at the intersection of Bryant and Third Street. Founded in nineteen ninety-three by painter Griff Williams, the space established a reputation for supporting living contemporary artists without imposing a strict curatorial agenda. Williams maintained that the gallery should offer artists the freedom to challenge themselves, even providing room for them to fail during their exhibitions.
