Theatre Rhinoceros

Theatre Rhinoceros, affectionately known as The Rhino, is the world’s longest-running professional queer theatre company. Founded in nineteen seventy-seven by Allan B. Estes, Junior, and Lanny Baugniet, the company established a platform for LGBTQ+ voices that has endured for nearly five decades. It takes its name from the lavender rhinoceros, a symbol of gay activism that gained prominence in the mid-nineteen seventies.
