Black Point Historic Gardens

Black Point Historic Gardens is a one-acre, east-facing hillside at the northeast corner of Fort Mason. You can identify the site by its steep, terraced pathways and outdoor staircases that drop from the bluff-top residences down toward the San Francisco waterfront at Aquatic Park. This hillside was sheltered from the prevailing westerly winds, which made it a favored location for gardening as early as the eighteen fifties.
