Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens is a sprawling, immersive art environment covered in mosaics made from bicycle spokes, ceramic shards, glass bottles, and mirror fragments. Spanning half a city block, the site features a bi-level outdoor labyrinth of handmade tiles and sculpted walls alongside indoor gallery spaces. It is the work of mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar, who began filling these vacant lots with his creations in nineteen ninety-four to beautify the neighborhood.
