The Hof van Rijhove is a fourteenth-century fortified house tucked behind a small gate at number twenty-two Onderstraat. Its most striking feature is a garden replanted in the medieval style, enclosed by high walls and laid out with square plots and ancient varieties of pear trees. While the structure dates back to a period when it functioned as a defensive residence, its history shifted significantly in the late sixteenth century.
