The Achtersikkel, or House of the Rear Sickle, is a secluded medieval courtyard hidden behind the busier streets near Saint Bavo’s Cathedral. You can identify the complex by the tall, round fifteenth-century brick tower topped with an octagonal Renaissance belvedere that rises above the surrounding brick structures.
