Designed by the architect Christoffel van den Berghe, this building is a preserved example of Brabant Gothic architecture, defined by intricate stone carvings across its exterior. Bas-reliefs depict skippers, and a small carving of a caravel appears above the entrance door, marking the era when this waterfront served as the primary hub for the city’s maritime trade.
