The Ghent Market Hall, or Stadshal, is a dual-gabled structure defined by its soaring timber roof and four massive concrete pillars. Its exterior is clad in a glass envelope that reflects the sky and the surrounding medieval stone towers. Designed by architects Robbrecht en Daem and Marie-José Van Hee, this contemporary building opened in twenty twelve to provide a grand, open-air shelter in the city center.
