The Museum of Industry is housed within the walls of a former nineteenth-century cotton mill, an imposing red-brick factory building located near the Vrijdagmarkt. This site preserves the story of Ghent’s transformation into a major center of European textile production, a shift that began here at the end of the eighteenth century.
