The Ancient Serdica Cultural Complex is recognizable by three glass domes that rise above street level in the center of Sofia, sheltering an expansive archaeological site from the elements. These structures protect the unearthed remains of the Roman city of Serdica, which thrived here as an administrative and trade hub between the first and sixth centuries.
