Monument to the Tsar Liberator

The Monument to the Tsar Liberator is distinguished by a bronze equestrian statue of Tsar Alexander the Second, perched atop a towering pedestal of black polished granite sourced from Vitosha Mountain. Facing the National Assembly, the Neoclassical memorial reaches a height of sixteen and a half meters. The central section features a bronze bas-relief of Russian and Bulgarian soldiers led by a goddess of victory, while the granite base displays scenes from the Russo-Turkish War, including the signing of the Treaty of San Stefano.
