The Exchange Hotel occupies a building that creates a striking visual contrast: a heavy, stone-clad heritage exterior from the nineteen twenties sits at the base of a modern, thirty-one-story glass tower. You can identify the older portion by its neo-Gothic facade and the barrel-vaulted lobby, which still features the original ceiling paintings from nineteen twenty-nine. This site was once the home of the Vancouver Stock Exchange, a hub of the city’s early financial district.
