The Chinese Tea Shop sits at the corner of East Pender and Columbia Street in Vancouver’s Chinatown. It is marked by a wide, prominent canopy over the entrance, a feature that once provided essential shelter to two travelers caught in a heavy rainstorm. They stepped inside to escape the weather and were greeted by owner Daniel Lui, who offered them tea.
