Knox Presbyterian Church is defined by its robust, square bell tower and heavy stone masonry, which together give the building the appearance of a sturdy fortress. This structure at the corner of Lisgar and Elgin Streets dates to nineteen thirty-two, designed by architect Henry Sproatt to blend English Gothic and Norman styles. While the exterior possesses a solid, defensive air, the interior features the soaring, lighter touch of English Gothic Revival.
