Green Market

The Green Market, known locally as the Pazar, stretches along the eastern outer wall of Diocletian’s Palace. You can distinguish the market by its long rows of stalls shaded by colorful umbrellas, set directly against the pale, seventeen-century-old limestone of the Roman fortress. It serves as the city’s primary open-air produce hub, where farmers from the surrounding Dalmatian hinterland arrive each morning to sell seasonal fruits, vegetables, honey, and olive oil.
