Poljud Stadium

Poljud Stadium is defined by its sweeping, seashell-like roof structure, which spans over two hundred meters and gives the building a distinct appearance often likened to a spaceship at night. Designed by Croatian architect Boris Magaš and opened in September nineteen seventy-nine, the stadium was built to host the eighth Mediterranean Games. Its open, transparent design was modeled after ancient Greek theaters to offer views of the surrounding hills and the sea from the stands.
