St Alban's Church

St. Alban's Church is distinguished by its exterior of knapped flint and limestone, a material choice rarely seen in Copenhagen that gives the building the appearance of a traditional English parish church. It sits in a quiet parkland beside the Kastellet citadel, intentionally designed to stand apart from the surrounding Danish architecture. Built between eighteen eighty-five and eighteen eighty-seven, the church was established to serve the city’s growing Anglican community, which had lacked a formal place of worship for years.
