Gefion Fountain

The Gefion Fountain is a massive bronze sculpture of a Norse goddess driving four oxen through churning water, standing prominently on the Copenhagen harbour front near the Kastellet fortress. It is the largest monument in the city, rising roughly six meters above the water and set within a wide stone basin. First activated on July fourteen, nineteen oh eight, the fountain was a gift from the Carlsberg Foundation to mark the brewery’s fiftieth anniversary.
