Kastellet

Kastellet is a pentagonal star fort defined by its five pointed bastions and a surrounding moat. King Christian the Fourth initiated construction here in sixteen twenty-six to guard the harbor entrance, and King Frederik the Third later commissioned the Dutch engineer Henrik Rüse to complete the star-shaped design in the sixteen sixties.
