The Royal Danish Playhouse is defined by a deep-brown brick exterior and a continuous glass-encased upper story, with nearly forty percent of the structure projecting directly over the water. Designed by the Danish practice Lundgaard and Tranberg, it serves as the home for the Royal Danish Theatre’s drama company, providing a purpose-built venue to supplement the company's historic stage from eighteen seventy-four.
