Chapel of Lariboisiere Hospital, Paris

religious

The Chapel of Lariboisière occupies the center of the Lariboisière Hospital complex, distinguished by a bell tower that rises above the surrounding pavilions. Construction occurred between eighteen forty-six and eighteen fifty-three, following a cholera epidemic that devastated Paris in eighteen thirty-two. The hospital was financed by the fortune of Élisa de Lariboisière, who bequeathed her wealth for this foundation before her death in eighteen fifty-one.
