Quai de Jemmape

The Quai de Jemmapes stretches along the Saint-Martin Canal, marked by its long, tree-lined path that runs for over one and a half kilometers through the tenth arrondissement. Formed in eighteen twenty-two during the canal's construction, it briefly held the name Quai Charles-X before being renamed in eighteen thirty to commemorate the Battle of Jemmapes, a revolutionary victory won by French forces in Belgium.
