The Jardin Villemin—Mahsa Jîna Amini Garden is defined by its wide, sloping lawn that stretches down toward the Canal Saint-Martin. This public park occupies nearly twenty thousand square meters in the tenth arrondissement, tucked between the Rue des Récollets and the banks of the canal. Its existence is the result of a canceled highway project, which spared the land from becoming an interchange and allowed it to open to the public in nineteen seventy-seven.
