Cité de la mode et du design

The Cité de la Mode et du Design is marked by a bright, lime-green, organic structure that twists along the riverbank like a metallic lizard. This vivid exterior, designed by architects Dominique Jakob and Brendan MacFarlane, wraps around a long, narrow concrete building that was originally constructed in nineteen oh seven. That original depot, designed by Georges Morin-Goustiaux, was one of the first structures in Paris built using reinforced concrete. At the time of its completion, its raw, unadorned facade drew significant public debate.
