The Fondation des États-Unis, or United States Foundation, is a distinctive U-shaped building located at fifteen boulevard Jourdan. You can recognize the structure by the bas-reliefs on its central pediment, which feature a bald eagle surrounded by allegories of a skyscraper and Notre-Dame. Designed by architect Pierre Émile Leprince-Ringuet in an Art Deco style, the residence opened in nineteen thirty to foster dialogue between the two nations by housing American students and researchers.
