Bois de Boulogne massacre

Near the Grande Cascade, or the Great Waterfall, of the Bois de Boulogne, stands a cylindrical stone monument. It marks the site where thirty-five young French Resistance fighters were executed by German forces on the night of August sixteenth, nineteen forty-four. These men, mostly aged between eighteen and twenty-four, belonged to various groups, including the Jeunes Chrétiens Combattants and the Francs-Tireurs et Partisans.
