Square Thiers is a short private dead-end street in the sixteenth arrondissement that branches off from number one hundred fifty-five avenue Victor-Hugo. Stretching sixty-two meters in length and thirteen meters in width, the space is marked by the presence of a bas-relief tucked at the very back of the impasse. This carving depicts Adolphe Thiers, the nineteenth-century historian and statesman who oversaw the construction of the defensive wall around Paris that eventually bore his name.
