The Croix de l'Évangile stands at the intersection of rue de l'Évangile and rue d'Aubervilliers as the final remaining roadside calvary in Paris. The iron cross rests upon a concrete pedestal, marking a site of local devotion that dates back at least to fifteen forty. Originally, this spot sat in open fields between the villages of Saint-Denis, La Chapelle, and La Villette, serving as a landmark on a traditional pilgrimage route.
