The American Library in Paris

The American Library in Paris occupies a quiet street at number ten rue du Général Camou. This institution is the largest English-language lending library on the European continent. It was founded in nineteen twenty by the American Library Association, growing out of a massive project that shipped over one million books to American soldiers serving in the trenches during the First World War.
