The Montmartre Water Tower stands forty-three meters tall, defined by its Byzantine Revival architecture, including cornices, crenellations, and arcaded openings across its concrete facade. Built in nineteen twenty-seven, it replaced an earlier eighteen thirties structure to supply fresh water to the residential and commercial areas at the top of the hill. The tower remains an active utility installation today, containing three large tanks that store water for the surrounding neighborhood.
