L'Européen sits at number five, rue Biot, near the Place de Clichy. Inaugurated in eighteen seventy-two as the Concert Européen, the venue began as a popular music hall with six hundred seats. Its early years as a café-concert hall featured performers like Polaire, Jeanne Bloch, and Harry Fragson, with Henri Christiné leading the orchestra before he went on to compose major operettas.
