Pavillon de l'Esprit Nouveau

The Pavillon de l’Esprit Nouveau, built for the nineteen twenty-five International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris, is defined by its refusal of the ornamental style that dominated the rest of the fair. Designed by the Swiss architects Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret, this model home served as a radical experiment in standardized housing, intended to function as a replicable cell within a larger urban block.
