Théâtre Marigny

The Théâtre Marigny, located near the corner of the Avenue des Champs-Élysées and Avenue de Marigny, is easily identified by its distinctive circular rotunda. This design stems from its original purpose: it was built in eighteen eighty-three by architect Charles Garnier, who also designed the Paris Opera House, specifically to display a massive, three-hundred-and-sixty-degree panoramic painting. By eighteen ninety-four, architect Édouard Niermans converted the structure into a theater, creating the space for musical performances that eventually hosted the Renaud-Barrault company and countless boulevard plays.
