The Galerie Le Château d’Eau stands out as a distinct brick tower located right beside the Pont-Neuf. While it now serves as a gallery, the structure began its life in eighteen twenty-five as a municipal pumping station, built to provide clean water to the city's fountains after a donation from a local official named Charles Laganne. By eighteen seventy, the facility was decommissioned and left to fall into disrepair.
