The Lycée Masséna is distinguished by an ornate clock tower that serves as an icon of the school, overlooking the Promenade du Paillon. Built of cut stone from La Turbie and adorned with mosaics, the institution occupies a site dedicated to education for nearly four centuries. It originated as an Augustinian convent in sixteen twenty-three, later transitioning through several identities, including a central school during the French Revolution and an Imperial Lycée established under the influence of Marshal André Masséna.
