The Innerer Ringwall—or Inner Ring Wall—is defined by the surviving earthworks that once formed the core defense of a fortified Celtic settlement on the Heiligenberg. You can distinguish these remains from the surrounding forest terrain by the subtle, low-lying earthen ridges that trace a concentric path around the hilltop. Built around the fourth century before Christ, these embankments originally supported a wide wall constructed with timber and stone.
