Café Knösel, located on Haspelgasse, is recognized as the oldest café in Heidelberg. Founded in eighteen sixty-three by master confectioner Fridolin Knösel, the establishment is easily identified as a historic coffeehouse situated in the heart of the city, just across from the Church of the Holy Ghost.
