Hexenturm

The Hexenturm stands as the only surviving remnant of the medieval city wall that once defined Heidelberg. You can find this stone tower tucked away within the courtyard of the New University, where it is integrated into the campus grounds. Built in the thirteenth century, the tower takes its name from the era of witch trials, when such structures were frequently used to hold those accused of witchcraft.
