The Elizabeth Gate is a triumphal arch carved from red sandstone, standing within the grounds of Heidelberg Castle. You can identify it by its four columns, which are sculpted to resemble tree trunks wrapped in ivy and populated with small stone animals like squirrels, lizards, and frogs.
